Freemake Video Converter does a great job of converting videos, even if it's not the fastest program of its kind. It supports loads of formats and doesn't saddle your video with a nasty watermark on the way out. As far as basic converters go, this one does a fantastic job of converting most videos without reducing quality.

Once you set it up, Freemake Video Converter takes any video on your computer and switches its format. In addition to all of the typical format support you'd expect, the program lets you choose a new format based on what gadget you want to use to watch the video. You can choose those or a few of the most popular formats right from the program's list of one-touch conversion options. You can choose exactly where you want to save the finished video, as well. The program keeps all of your video's options and quality intact, but the process takes a very long time by most standards. It took us a little more than 11 minutes to make it through a two-minute video.
